Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak, brittle, and more likely to fracture. It develops gradually as bone density decreases over time. The condition commonly affects older adults, especially women after menopause, and may not show symptoms until a fracture occurs.
In Ayurveda, osteoporosis is linked to aggravated Vata Dosha and depletion of Asthi Dhatu (bone tissue). Weak digestion, inadequate nourishment, ageing, and tissue degeneration gradually reduce bone strength. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on balancing Vata, improving nutrient absorption, nourishing bone tissue, and supporting healthy bone regeneration naturally.
